The Palmwoods Progress Association Inc. (PPA) elected a new committee at its annual
general meeting on May 8th.
The new committee has a shared vision of building a strong community connection by
representing the wishes and views of Palmwoods residents. They are also keen to offer community support, while raising awareness of the history and character of the
The newly elected president, Mariannje Morice, has a background in arts and event
management. The newly elected vice president, Glenn Wilson, is experienced in developing and improving the culture of organisations. Jenny McCafferty will continue to provide her strong organisational skills as Secretary. Mark McCafferty has stepped into the role of Treasurer, replacing Geoff Littler who has retired after providing long community service.
The new committee are united in their belief that the PPA will engage and encourage
Palmwoods residents to contribute and share ideas concerning the future of their
community, inviting a strong sense of ownership. Residents are invited to attend monthly
meetings (held at 6pm on the second Thursday of the month at the Palmwoods Memorial
Hall conference room), and also interact through social media on the PPA facebook
As Mayor Jamieson in the 2014-2019 SCC Corporate Plan says: “It means maintaining
